About Ms. Meister
[email protected]
Welcome to 4th grade! My name is Andrea Meister and I am your child’s math, science, and social studies teacher this year. I can't believe this will be my 9th year teaching at Wilson Creek Elementary and I absolutely love it! I taught 3rd grade for three years before moving up to 4th grade. During the 2010-2011 school year, I was named Wilson Creek's Teacher of the Year.
I am originally from Ohio and graduated from Bowling Green State University where I earned my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I later went on to earn my Masters degree from Kennesaw State University in 2009.
While attending BGSU, I played on the varsity tennis team all throughout my undergrad years. I continue to play on USTA and ALTA leagues throughout the school year. My parents still live in Ohio and I miss them dearly. I have one older sister Jen, my brother-in-law Jesse, and a dog named Kaylie. While I did not go to Ohio State, I am a huge Buckeye fan and spend most of my Saturdays cheering them on during football season. O-H!
I believe in creating a positive classroom experience for all of my students and I want them to succeed in and out of the classroom. I not only want to help them grow academically, but socially and emotionally as well. I have very high expectations and will let my students know what my expectation is each and every day. With that in mind, I expect them to work hard and will guide them to reach their goals so they can be successful in the classroom, while having FUN at the same time!
I know 4th grade will be a fun year for the kids and myself and I look forward to helping your child grow into an independent, creative thinker. Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child.
